Ford Ballantyne was a jointly-supported postdoctoral fellow with ASU and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.  His worked focused on rocky-reef community dynamics and implications for the design of marine protected areas.  His current interests include metabolic scaling in ecology, links between community structure and ecosystem dynamics, spatial and temporal variability in populations, and causes and consequences of elemental stoichiometry in ecosystems.
