I am interested in the intersection of marine science and policy. My motivation stems from a general disconnect between people and their surrounding environments. Oceans are a complicated ecological system tied heavily to anthropogenic impacts that can change them irreversibly. I aim to better understand the impacts humans have on marine systems and determine means to conserve biodiversity.

I grew up in Maryland and have always loved being outside, particularly in the ocean. I graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a certificate in Environmental Studies. My passion for marine sciences initiated during my summers spent with my family in Trinidad and Tobago. Seeing leatherback sea turtles nesting and the ecotourism surrounding these events made a lasting impression. I am inspired by the relationships between people and their environment and how each can benefit the other.
